Free Fishing

  • Tennessee State Parks (map)

Every June, Tennessee State Parks offers two opportunities to fish for free and without a license. Free Fishing Day is open to anyone and is always the Saturday in the first full week in June. Second, Free Fishing Week follows Free Fishing Day and is open to children 15 and younger. Although all Tennessee public waters, agency owned and operated lakes are included, this is a wonderful time to fish the bodies of water in and near the Smoky Mountains, which are known for wild trout and fly fishing.
